Katherine Heigl Knows How to Handle With Care

Katherine Heigl was still busy moving on Thursday, taking a cigarette break between lifting heavy boxes into her new digs in LA. Seems like the perfect job for sweats, but as usual Katherine was perfectly dressed and accessorized right down to her chunky red bracelet. Hopefully Mrs. Josh Kelley is almost finished moving in, because we want to see her back on the set of Grey's already.

Scavenging for Superdelegates

As we went to bed last night, the juicy New York Times headline "Black Leader, a Clinton Ally, Tilts to Obama" tucked us in. The story explained the soon-to-be defection of Georgia Rep. John Lewis from Hillary Clinton's camp to Barack Obama's. Lewis is a superdelegate and a civil rights leader whose district voted overwhelmingly for Barack Obama in Georgia's Super Tuesday primary. If he officially defected, his change of heart was thought to be a bellwhether for all of Clinton's superdelegates whose districts voted for Obama. The Times reported that Lewis "said Thursday night that he planned to cast his vote as a superdelegate for Senator Barack Obama in hopes of preventing a fight at the Democratic convention," but that Lewis was still weighing whether to officially endorse Obama.

But after changing his mind on Clinton, he may be changing his mind on Obama.

Harris impressive in Nets debut

Not a bad debut in New Jersey for point guard Devin Harris: 21 points and 5 assists in 21 minutes of action. Obviously, he's not going to average a point per minute once he works his way into the starting lineup ahead of Marcus Williams, but I think he should be able to continue the strong season he was having in Dallas before he got hurt. He can only be helped by playing in the Eastern Conference, which isn't quite as stacked at the point guard position as the West. Williams, on the other hand, had another good night at the point for the Nets, going for 11 points and 8 assists in 30 minutes. If you can sell high on him to someone desperate for assists, this might be your last chance, because Harris will keep getting more and more of the point guard minutes as the end of the season gets closer.

1st Stage New Works Festival at Florida Stage to feature Marsha Norman ...

Now a mature playwright, she's revisited the script at Florida Stage's urging. Mastrosimone's, Ramirez's and Christopher McGovern's scripts are newly written.

The festival debuted last year, when Florida Stage consolidated the new-play readings it had scattered throughout the year into a single event. "We learned that there was a really electric response to the idea of the chorus of voices a new play festival represents," said Louis Tyrrell, the theater's producing director.

The focus of the festival is on the playwright, said Javier Chacin, Florida Stage's artistic associate and the festival's coordinator. "This is an opportunity to help them develop their plays," he said. "We're here to help in whatever way the playwright wants."

The audience pitches in, too, because its feedback lets playwrights know whether their words are hitting home.
