| Porn 2.0: What Happens When Free Porn Meets Social Networking
Porn 2.0 sites mesh tagged content, discussion groups and user comments and ratings to form a community where users can easily explore and share different fetishes and fantasies. Without that community aspect, the allure of YouPorn diminishes, says Fredrick Lane, author of Obscene Profits, a study of the success of online pornography. "It's easier for voyeurs to indulge in fantasy and exhibitionists to expose themselves without violating the law. It's like an electronic peeping Tom." There are even several Facebook groups for fans of online porn. Members of the PornoTube Appreciation Society, for example, post messages like "Work is going down the tube! The PornoTube!" Porn goes democratic Free porn on the web is nothing new. But aggregating it into one searchable database a la YouTube is.
What makes an award-winning hotel?
Bekhit who is regional vice president of the Four Seasons and has been the general manager of the Four Seasons Istanbul enjoys relating incidents like this involving his staff. He has often only found out about them later. Asked in an interview with the Turkish Daily News what he believed makes a hotel successful, Bekhit replied, so far we've been blessed with great employees because our selection is very important. Human resources has an incredible role to play in selecting the right sources. Human resources collects the people and then they go through at least four interviews. So when we accept someone as an employee, we feel that he or she will be successful within the family. 99 percent will stay with us and we are sure that he or she will do what we tell them to. That's when you start from the beginning.
Great runners keep their eyes on the prize
Awesome Detroit Lions Roll Toward Playoffs: (Note: New running item that might not last long.) Sign of the times: I just changed the "JK" entry in my AutoCorrect from "John Kerry" to "Jon Kitna." The Lions are 12th in offense and 28th in defense, yet somehow 6-2; the football gods promise an investigation. Detroit switched to eight- or even nine-man fronts, daring Patrick Ramsey to throw. And unfortunately for Denver, he accepted. Note that once the score was 37-0 in the fourth quarter, Kitna and most of Detroit's other starters sat down. And if you haven't seen the highlight clip of 340-pound Detroit defensive tackle Shaun Rogers running 66 yards for a touchdown with an interception, you must. Perhaps "running" is not the correct verb. Rather, let's call it "moving" 66 yards. Anyway, go to the happy-talk NFL.com (see below) and watch it under Game Clips.
Waterboarding: the most horrific experience of my life
In a PoW camp this means making them, which for obvious reasons is a matter of great difficulty and great danger. The relatively stable day-to-day routine in the workshop camp and the technical background were helpful for making small and totally illicit radio sets. The technical genius who conjured up the working radio receiver at Kanchanaburi from basic materials such as silver paper was a sergeant major in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps; one Lance Thew, formerly the proprietor of a civilian radio shop in Sunderland. Our radio receiver worked nicely, under secure conditions for many months. The end came one day in August 1943, however, when several PoW camps on the Burma-Siam Railway were raided by the Japanese Military Police simultaneously. What gave rise to this widespread search is not known, even to this day.
Andy Pettitte apologizes for using HGH
Moreover, Clemens has filed a defamation lawsuit against McNamee. "This has been a horrible situation for me," Pettitte said. "I'm hoping and praying I don't have to do anything else." "If that were to all die down, I think it would pretty much go away," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "But obviously, there is some litigation there that Andy might be a part of. "So from that standpoint, it could linger. But my thought is Andy has probably told everything that there is." Pettitte posted a 15-9 record with a 4.05 earned-run average in 34 starts and two relief appearances last season, his 10th in New York. The left-hander is 201-113 lifetime with a 3.83 ERA and 25 complete games in 403 appearances (393 starts) over 13 MLB seasons with the Yankees and Astros.
Bush's Blackwater, an armed and deadly mercenary Christian army
Like most of you I knew Blackwater was a military contractor with personnel in Iraq. I knew they also sent armed personnel to police the street of New Orleans after Katrina. But I did some research after a private pilot friend sent me a series of photographs he recently took flying over their 6,000 acre North Carolina training site (see exclusive enlarged high resolution pictures here, my friend took them not knowing whether there might be dire consequenses flying so close to their facility). Once I did a little reading I was horrified at the secret army Bush has at his beck and call. For starters, I suggest readers take a few minutes and at least view this discussion, if not read the entire article from The Nation by Jeremy Scahill, the author of a new book, "Blackwater, The Rise of the World’s Most Powerful Mercenary Army".
United Tech Launches Bid for Diebold
Early in February, Diebold estimated 2007 revenue at $2.95 billion, which would rise 6% to 8% in 2008. The company had said it was disappointed with the revenue growth it posted for 2007. And it also said it would cut about 5% of its global workforce to reduce costs. Diebold also said then that the board's audit committee and regulators were continuing to review the company's accounting. Morgan Stanley is advising United Technologies on the takeover proposal.
